Term & Termination

The length of this Layaway Agreement is 10 months, nine equal payments from January 2022 - September 2022 with a final invoice once the beef goes to the butcher shop.

McPhee Family Farms reserves the right to amend or cancel the Layaway Agreement at any time, for any reason, without notice, at our sole discretion. If the agreement is terminated by McPhee Family Farms all monies collected will be returned to the customer.

This agreement is for the sole purpose of purchasing a half cow. The price is calculated by the hanging weight of the animal after it has been slaughtered and delivered to the butcher. The hanging weight of the cow will be multiplied by $4.00 per pound, the sum of that calculation (less deposit & monies collected) will be the balance owed to McPhee Family Farms. We aim to have a half of a cow weigh 300lbs, if a half weighs more than 300lbs the additional charge will be due by December 1st of the current year. If the HALF cow weighs less than 300lbs the difference of the credit accumulated and the actual charge will be refunded.

Prices & Fees

$4.00 Per Pound Hanging Weight of Cow Paid to McPhee Family Farms $60 Kill Fee Paid to Butcher Shop

Cut and Wrap Prices at the butcher shop are 85 cents per pound hanging weight- Paid to Butcher Shop at time of pick up.

Butcher fees are not included in the layaway program, they must be paid separately, butcher fees may change at any time. McPhee Family Farms do not control these prices.

Cut & Wrap

We offer three predetermined packages or you can make your own package by working directly with the butcher. The butcher shop will contact you for cutting instructions after the cows go to the butcher. The butcher lets the meat hang in an air cooled room to age the beef then cuts to your order. If you have any questions about how to have the meat cut just ask and they will help you determine what’s best for your family. You will pay the butcher shop separately for the cut, wrap and kill fee.

Payments

Layaway payments must be made in U.S dollars.Payments will be made via Square card processing. Payment schedule is structured to have a $1,080 credit accumulated by September 2nd of the year beef was originally ordered to be received, butcher fees are not included and must be paid separately.

A minimum initial deposit is required upon entering into this agreement. This initial deposit is determined solely by McPhee Family Farms. Following the initial deposit minimum monthly payments are due the First day of each month. A billing cycle refers to each month in the agreed payment plan timeframe. You may pay all or part of your past due balance at any time. You must pay at least the minimum monthly payment due by the first of each month. Any payments exceeding the minimum monthly payment may be applied towards the total credit accumulated.

Military & First Responder Discount

The Military and First Responder Discount program applies to Active Military, Retired Military, Honorably Discharged Military, Active Military Reserve, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, & EMT’s. The discount will be applied to your final invoice, eligibility documentation will be required.

Buying In Bulk FAQs

Why is it so much cheaper to buy in bulk?

  • There are a few reasons why it's so cheap:
  • You are apart of the process: By picking up the meat directly from Greenleaf Meat Packing in Greenleaf, ID. That saves a lot of money in labor that you don't have to pay for.
  • A lower priced butcher: Greenleaf Meat Packing is a smaller meat processor and has cheaper prices than the processor we use for our retail cuts.
  • You are buying more meat, which we offer discounts for: Our bulk harvest requires you to buy more meat than our normal retail boxes offer, so we give you more of a discount.
  • No Sales Tax: Since we are technically an Oregon based business you are technically buying our meat in Oregon when you buy bulk, that means we don't have to charge sales tax. That's a HUGE savings over buying our retail cuts that are sold in Idaho and subject to Idaho sales tax.

If I miss this bulk order will I get another chance later?

Yes! Make sure you are on our email list to keep updated about our bulk sales! We are now harvesting on a monthly basis, so if you miss one ordering period another one is not too far off.
